Introduction

Ayo!
I am Alberto, and I am glad to be here with all of you!

Expectations

For quite a while now, I have been waiting the arrival of this day, always keen on taking this course. One of my dreams is to some day implement a programming language of my own design. I believe I have some ideas that might be useful to further develop our field; hopefully something not so esoteric like Piet or Lolcode. So, in my fair share of expectations, I wish to learn all the fundamental aspects of compiler design in order to further my interests and stop procrastinating this project of mine.

Personal Interests

I love philosophy, art, and technology. Given these interests, I would gladly like to explore the intersection of these to imagine new possible ways of interaction and expression of culture. However, I admit I have some sleeping issues. So, most of the time you will find me either sleeping or reading more about these topics.

Recommendations

Talking about philosophy, I do recommend the following two books I read and wholeheartedly enjoyed this summer: Contingency and Commitment: Mexican Existentialism and the Place of Philosophy by Alberto Sanchez, and Ludwig Wittgenstein: The Duty of Genius by Ray Monk. As for movies, Museo by Alonso Ruizpalacios, starring Gael García Bernal, which you will find as a YouTube Premium Original.
